Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday, December 18. Activities are planned for all ages, beginning with candle-lighting every evening in the “Hands of Hope” menorah in the garden courtyard. (In the case of inclement weather, the festivities will move indoors.)

Sunday, 12/18, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Hanukkah Story Time with Fran Berman (guitar) and Deborah Levine (flute) at the African-American Cultural Center, Discover Portsmouth
Wednesday, 12/21, 5:00 pm, Community Celebration with lotsa latkes, songs, and games. Bring your favorite hanuukiah for a major display!
Thursday, 12/22, 5:30 pm, Interfaith Candle Lighting with faith leaders and community members of the Portsmouth Ministerium, followed by refreshments in the Shmooze
Friday, 12/23, 3:30 pm, Hanukkah Themed Tot Shabbat led by Rabba Kaya
Saturday, 12/24, 5:30 pm, Dinner and a Movie in the social hall. Dinner will be catered by Green Elephant Vegetarian Asian Cuisine. Suggested donation: $10.00. The movie is Groundhog Day, a comedy directed by Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.
